Great One-Horned Rhinoceros, also known as Indian
Rhinoceros, is exclusivley found in Assam state of North-
East India and in the in the Terai region of Nepal. Today
only around 3,000 One-horned rhinos live in the wild,
2,000 of which are found in Assam alone. It is the fourth
largest land animal species in the world. Its most
significant difference to African Rhinoceros is the single
horn on its head campared to two horns of the African
counterpart.
Distribution & Habitat:
This animal is mostly found in CHITWAN NATIONAL PARK IN
NEPAL.There are more than 500 rhinos living in Nepal in
their own habitat.Many tourist come every yea in our
country just to see this rare animal.
